Country Life
In our agriturismo, a love for the land and the production of genuine farm products blend seamlessly with the hospitality we offer to those who choose to visit us. In our educational vegetable garden, you can explore our crops and experience the simple, wholesome rhythm of country life.
Across our fields you’ll find different cultivations: arable crops, a mulberry grove, an orchard of ancient fruit varieties, and a caper field — all places you can discover, perhaps during a sunset walk.
Our donkeys will be the first animals you meet upon arrival; with their gentle nature and affection, they’ll win you over even before you step out of the car!
Educational Workshops
Periodically, and in harmony with our farming activities, we organise small-group educational workshops. Traditional cooking, homemade natural detergents and cosmetics, and the construction of artificial nests are just some of the activities we host on our farm. During the summer, with the collaboration of a naturopath, we offer yoga sessions and wellness treatments.
Masseria Galatea also welcomes solidarity projects promoted by local volunteer associations, which carry out inclusion activities through experiences in social farming.
Our Bird Garden
The masseria has always been a place frequented by wild birds.
Goldfinches, sparrows, little owls, hoopoes, kestrels and even bats are just some of the species that nest each year in the many artificial nests we have built — over 100 installed around the agriturismo!
We wanted to create a welcoming space for these small friends, providing a special spot for those who enjoy nature observation and birdwatching.
New Projects
We are working towards creating the first small-scale silk production chain in Salento. We have planted over 1,000 mulberry trees, whose leaves will be essential for breeding the Bombyx mori — the silkworm — from whose cocoon the precious natural fibre will be obtained.
